Mind-Body-Spirit: Martial Arts Power

Updated: Jul 29, 2023

This version of our logo contains the character for "Strength", or "Power"

This is the scripture we used to meditate on during class last night; and to take with us to ponder during the day.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

Addendum 1:

Martial artists often talk about "inner strength"; personally I've always thought that if you weren't training "mind, body, and spirit" (or more accurately spirit, soul, and body) that you were doing a very low level of training no matter how tough, or proficient you are at fighting.

That being said, WHERE we draw our power from, WHAT our source of strength is matters.

Just positive thinking and affirmations to empower the "self" are not enough.

Just trusting in "the universe" is not enough...

We need to connect with and draw our strength from the Creator of the universe and of all-that-is.

...and there is only one way to do that.

Addendum 2

The Amplified version of this scripture expands on this and goes a little deeper:

I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

Philippians 4:13 (AMP)
